York/Cambridge weekend

Image
Well what a weekend, no kids so we headed to York for a few days. Here is just a couple of the hundreds of pics i took. The man actually grabbed the camera off of me as I think he got fed up of me taking pics of him and turned it on me which i hate. but this was my fave out of about 30 shots This is a pic of the shambles, such a cute street until you learn that shambles means butchers and the gutter used to be knee high in gutts etc Then the beautiful minister, what a stunning building. A great example of gothic architecture. It reminded me of the notre dame in some ways. I could have taken hundred sof pics of this building alone. Then the day after we got back, we headed to Cambridge for a wander about as the weather was so amazing. Whilst the man saw and sketched in the park I headed off for a spot of geocaching as there was 3 all within 300mtrs of each other, although one took ages as it was a tiny micro under a bench which had loads of tourits sitting there :( But finally it was m...

Paradise Wildlife Park....

Image
We spent a fantastic day at Paradise Wildlife Park in Broxbourne, Herts today, The weather was amazing sitting at 25c which is just awesome for April. The place is amazing for children young and older. We started by playing in the outdoor play area, followed by watching the birds of prey show, picnic indoor arts and crafts session. Then moved onto playing in the outdoor water lagoon including mummy getting soaked much to the guys amusement. More outdoor play including a train ride, some indoor soft play so mum could grab a starbucks as seriously flagging now. Then a walk around the animals at their feeding times. I am shattered yet the kids after spending 7hrs in the park are still in the garden bouncing away on the trampoline as soon as we got home. Nutters Anyway below is a pic i took during the show, the owl landed right next to me, she was stunning. x

walk by the river.....

Image
we decided to head down to the river and have a wander along, grab a couple of caches along the way.... This is a church we found tuck down by the river, I have lived here for 14yrs and I never knew it was here. Such a beautiful building.... Finally why does such a simple thing as a daisy bring such a smile to me face. That as well as teaching my daughter to make daisy chains as I was taught by my mum as a child. :0) I promise a few more crafty style posts soon, i am working on a cj entry at the mo, titled coffee, creme and roses...google it, you get weddings argh!!!!!

More geo caching...

There were 6 new caches all published in the loughton area in the last week, so today we headed off to find them. We found 5 out of the 6 but the other one had been destroyed within 2 days of being placed. It was nice as it only took us about an hour to do them all, but as always I forgot my camera lol Will upload a pic i took on my phone to see if it came out ok . Other news, I have signed up for the start of an OU course DD131 with is understanding the social society, incorporating sociology/psychology/ criminology/geography/ social environment/policy and politics. Argh I must be insane lol

catch up on pics.....

We have had a few glorious days, albeit that they have now come to an end. I love seeing blossom against bright blue skies, it lifts the soul...... We headed to St Albans last weekend, I love the park there with the Cathedral in the background. Not the best pics but i forgot my camera so these are from my phone..... My baby girl is growing up so fast.... And J having moody blues as he was bored... Then last night I headed over to Braintree to visit my friend Maude and we headed off for supper at pizza express. I love that they always have fresh gerberas on each table. After a yummy pizza I had a coffee with mini dessert, dough balls and choclate dip...divine!!! So it has been salad at work today to make up for the naughtiness.... Oh and finally, I got the results back from the big C 6mths check up, whoo hoo all clear again. Still on 6mths checks for another 6yrs but best to be save than ignore and it comes back undetected. So the heaviness has lifted off my shoulders and I can sl...

I have taken the plunge and signed up for the three hearts art journalling course, you can read about it here I need inspiration and I am hoping that this will help provide some. :) I hope you are all enjoying the glorious sunshine that we are having. We have spent the day in St Albans laying in the park, playing football and running about, followed by lunch and cold coffees in starbucks, fab way to spend a sunday except that I forgot my camera, but hey sometimes you just have to record the smiles, laughter and fun in your heart instead. xxx

Anyone who knows me, knows my love of coffee. so when i got the latest of the colours journals land on my doorstep and it was brown/bronze whatelse could i possibly do... Plus i got yo use my new stamp :0) And thanks to Sarah for inspiration as i made my own stencil for the coffee beans, not very adventurous but a start. all done...

Well I completed reading my new book yesterday whilst waiting for the last of the tests to be done. All i can say is that I am glad that I did not need my blood pressure taken lol Well good news so far, my contract has been extended until dec 2011 at work. One set of tests came back, the lump that they found was benign, phew and the last test results are due back in 2 wks so fingers crossed they are clear too. I have been trying to get back into scrapbooking lately but i just sit and stare at the papers, i even tried scraplifting but nothing. so I think the time has come to get rid of everything that is hogging all the space in my dining room and garage. I think I will just stick to art journalling, probably a little less space needed ( I Hope!) On a more positive note the weather has been glorious for the last few days and I am hoping that it continues over the weekend as I really want to get out and about in the countryside with the children and enjoy the weather rather than loo...

Its April.....

A Happy belated Mothers Day to all mums and grans out there. Mothers day was spent with these guys at the Royal Observatory Greenwich, and after spending the day watching shows in the planetrium and looking at all the exhibits. We headed home for all three to declare that the best bit of the day was rolling down the huge hill over and over again... lol And its April, these pages were actually completed on time which is fab for once... I wanted an easter egg coloured inspired page and ended up with this, i love it. Happy April everyone xxx
