Another stitching update

Image
I have not completed part 4 of the Halloween town as yet, it's now dark when I get in from work and stitching on 32ct linen is killing my eyes. But as Halloween is next week oh and I might have just bought the 3 part Christmas sampler I think I should crack on with it. So this is where I am at.... The house on the left of the picture is my design as the original was a cupcake bakery. In my mind it didn't fit so I designed a haunted house based in few people different ones on Pinterest.   So now all I have left to complete is the title. You can find the new Christmas sampler on the website www.frostedpumpkinstitchery.com. I have ordered the fabric 32ct again and I just need to visit hobbycraft and buy the threads.   I also plan on doing a dec daily/journal your Christmas book again this year. So what are you upto?

Stitching update

I am onto part 3 of the Halloween town stitch along, I have started with the cute little witch.  I'm starting to struggle due to it getting dark about 8pm which is when I usually get to sit down after clearing up following dinner.  I find stitching even with the main light in hard going. Back soon to show progress :-)

New stitching

I decided to join in with the frosted pumpkin stitchery lastest stitch along, the pattern is called Halloween town and being a huge Halloween fan could not resist. The first part was realised a few days ago. This is my effort so far, unfortunately kids, school, work and life get in the way.  Some people have finished part 1, amazing I think. Also I am stitching on linen and I think my eyes are knackered lol

I have been watching this company for the last few months as people post their process with the monthly sampler. Then they released a Halloween version. 1st part I received in June 19th I think. Can't wait. Although I need to order the linen and threads first. Then each month you get a new part to stitch. http://thefrostedpumpkinstitchery.bigcartel.com/product/the-mysterious-halloween-town-club-pdf-cross-stitch-pattern-subscription It was not expensive at all and hopefully I will find time to complete it before Halloween lol

Changes

Image
This month is seeing lots of new changes.... Changes to our house, the kitchen I getting there. Changes to our routine as a family,  Changes with my new job means that sometimes I have to work a long day but in return get to work from home on occasions. But we will find a new routine. Being a mum to 4 and working full time has it's challenges but most days I cope lol Last night I took a night off from DIY, I made an early dinner and then decided to chill. I curled up on the sofa and decided to stitch a bit.  I have not touched it for over a month.  So with catch up tv on I spent a whole evening watching call the midwife, line of duty and first dates whilst stitching away . I'm not the quickest stitcher either.  Here's a pic so far.... Oh well it's judo night, I'm off to matter with the mums whilst the kids randori.

X stitch

Image
I can't remember if I have said that I bought a x-stitch kit. I used to xstitch loads before the children arrived.  But my friend rach has posted pics of a sampler that she is making and it inspired me to have a play again. So last Sunday I started my sampler as you can see it's a Xmas sampler so I have 11mths lol This is the kit picture.... My stitching so far. I started with the tree and hopefully worked out my spacing correctly lol

X stitch

Whilst I was visiting my nan yesterday I noticed that she still has a x stitch sampler on her kitchen wall that I made her about 15 yrs ago.  So I snapped a quick pic. It was a garden sampler as my nan used to always potter around her garden. Unfortunately she is becoming less able to kneel etc It still looks as good as the day I had it framed, it has encouraged me to prepare to start my new sampler.  I borrowed the pic of the image from eBay  I think it's a very clean image and should stitch up quite quickly.   I will post images as I go.  RaRa this is all your fault lol I am so waiting for my new project life binder and page protectors to arrive from the Us so I can start PL 2014. So what crafty plans do you have?

Happy 2014

So how's you new year started, fine I hope.  So what resolutions or goals did you set yourself?   Mine, well they are practical ones. 1) replace our kitchen 2). Try and lose weight for my friends wedding in October. 3) try and be more social. With a new house, family and jobs I find myself thinking I should stay in contact with peeps but just don't find the time too. But I am going to make time.  Let's see how they all go this year :-)  Ps RaRa you have inspired me to pick up x stitching again. I used to x stitch but stopped when I had the twins.  Since rach has been posting her progress on her sampler it has made me want to try again.  This arrived in the post today....  It's a Christmas sampler so I have a year to complete it :-) Xxx
