A Day Off!
A few weeks back me and hubby took a sneaky day off together. The kids had no idea, and we escaped for a few hours into London. Why? I wanted to visit the poppies at the Tower of London. And grab a Flavourtown cupcake in spitalfields. If you are ever near spitalfields check the market out and the glorious food stalls including Flavourtown. This has to be my favourite one... I chose a spiced pumpkin one, hubby chose a raspberry smore. Both yum! Then we headed off for a walk to the tower, and saw the sea of blood installation. They were stunning, but it's so sad. A visual reminder of each life lost. The tower was heaving even on a school day, which is great for London but I had hoped it might be quieter. Then we jumped on a river boat and headed off to the O2 for a spot of lunch. As you can see it wa a grey drizzly day, but we could not resist standing at te back of the boat and seeing the city disappear. Before to long we headed home to collect children and return...
