X stitch

Image
I can't remember if I have said that I bought a x-stitch kit. I used to xstitch loads before the children arrived.  But my friend rach has posted pics of a sampler that she is making and it inspired me to have a play again. So last Sunday I started my sampler as you can see it's a Xmas sampler so I have 11mths lol This is the kit picture.... My stitching so far. I started with the tree and hopefully worked out my spacing correctly lol

Time for tea

Image
Thank you for popping in today, tea or coffee??? The fact that you have dropped by is a welcome distraction from my work, today im having to from home as my childminder is unwell :-(. So I done the school run then headed into work for a few hours before heading back to pick my 3 up, now you will find me set up on my bed with a cuppa and my work. So great to catch up, Xmas seems like ages ago, and of course I got married 3 weeks ago. I would share my highlights and pictures and we then discuss our families and getting back into routines. All to soon you have to go, my 3 are noisy and restless. I look forward to next months catch up, great to chat x If you want to join in our tea and chat head over to Abi's blog. http://creatingpaperdreams.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/lets-sit-and-have-cup-of-tea.html?m=1 It's good to share :-)

Early morning quiet

Image
This was my view this morning whilst sipping a coffee! Everyone else in the house slept peacefully but I was up and about. There is something about the quiet times, time to reflect, time to plan. Then they woke one by one lol

Happy weekend

Image
Hiya. So how's your week been??? Mine feels like it's gone on forever lol. But I did find this hiding in the bag of a local shop yesterday. I need a New bag that can hold folders etc for meeting and had been looking at the satchel style bags, then I saw a fabric owl one, love at first sight.  So I bought it :-). Happiness in a bag.

Combining my 2 fave things today. Grabbing a mini cupcake at Lola's cupcakes in London and combining that with my fave app called Collect. What a great way to start the day after catching an early train into town for a days training.  Mini cupcake and coffee mmmm

Washi holder

Image
I was saying to hubby (feels so strange saying hubby instead of man lol) that I needed a way to store my washi tapes so I could see what I had.  With that he jumped off the sofa and headed out to his workshop. An hour later I am presented with the above ta dah!!! He's so fab ;-) I think I'll keep him

Working from home

Image
This is my first time working from home. My new role means that one day a week I can work from home.  Amazing apart from the fact I just can not seem to motivate myself. Coffee made, need to step away from phone, fb, twitter etc lol Any hints tips great fully received.

New plans

Image
Today our digi pics arrived for our new kitchen. It's so exciting. We are doing all the work ourselves to save money. I can tile and C can do building work so it should be fine lol famous last words.  So you want to see.... It's pretty, off white units, slate floor, walnut work tops. Wall will be gone and replace with breakfast bar into dining room.  I will take pics as we destruct and then reconstruct :-) I love that we are making this house our home, a point I need to remember when it's looking like a bomb site in the next month lol What exciting plans do you have???

This week

Image
So this week has passed by in a flash, we already halfway through January.  So after work this week I met up with C, we get one child free night every 2 wks so he met me from work and we headed for a coffee. Followed by dinner here, love F&B's. Loving this app that I found called Collect. It creates card type pics.   As you walk in our office we have a notice board, this week I thought I would cheer everyone up lol Making me smile loads this week are all my spring bulbs waking and growing.   Hyacinths, mini daffs, my indoor rose.  They all sit together on my windowsill and  will create glorious colour together. So how's your week been?

She art figures

Image
I absolutely admire anyone who has made a she art picture/canvas. I love them. But just do not have the time to create some for me. So to my complete amazement when I opened my Xmas present from nikki it was a she art figurine.  I didn't even know that they made them. She is a dream one, and I love her.  I feel so lucky to have a friend who knows me so well.

Maroon 5

Image
Well here we are already racing through January. And my first concert of the year, originally we had booked tickets to see them in June 2013 but it was cancelled and rescheduled.  Mad we bought the tickets way back at the end of 2012.  So Friday after a hectic day at work I rushed off to the O2 in London to meet nikki.  I love this building just outside, and loving the reflections on the wet pavement.  Yes of course it's raining. It's London after all. We grab a quick bite to eat and then headed in. First up was Robin thicke, I had never heard of him but apparently he is popular. Boy can he sing high.  Not my cup of tea but hey ho Then it was maroon 5,  So a fun evening had, now what other gigs can I plan :-)

One photo, 20 words

Image
Over on Abi's blog http://creatingpaperdreams.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/one-photo-twenty-words.html?m=1 is a fab idea called 1 photo, 20 words. So here's my photo... Last week I was lucky enough to marry my soul mate, we had a fantastic day despite all the rain.  Pop over to Abi's blog and join in x

New crafty stuff

Image
So as I think I previously shared I'm going to try project life this year.  I really like the 6 x 8 format so ordered this set of album and page protectors last week from the US and it arrived today. Yay!!!! I have also ordered a mix set of PL cards, so I can start playing.  Although I am only aiming for one page per month at the mo. We will see how it goes. I also ordered these... Pompom makers from eBay.  Over Christmas there was a progrme with Kirsty allsopp in it about crafty Christmas and one item was making a pom pom advent display, basically making one per day to hang up.  Both charli and I loved the idea so we plan to practise and then next December make our pom pom advent window :-) Yay happy crafty new year

X stitch

Image
Whilst I was visiting my nan yesterday I noticed that she still has a x stitch sampler on her kitchen wall that I made her about 15 yrs ago.  So I snapped a quick pic. It was a garden sampler as my nan used to always potter around her garden. Unfortunately she is becoming less able to kneel etc It still looks as good as the day I had it framed, it has encouraged me to prepare to start my new sampler.  I borrowed the pic of the image from eBay  I think it's a very clean image and should stitch up quite quickly.   I will post images as I go.  RaRa this is all your fault lol I am so waiting for my new project life binder and page protectors to arrive from the Us so I can start PL 2014. So what crafty plans do you have?

Our wedding

Image
Well it flew past so incredibly quickly, the morning dragged with lots of relaxing and laying around. Then the afternoon flew past in a flash and the next I knew I became a Mrs.  It was a great afternoon, no probs, issues or anything.  So some pics... My hair do, very girlie for me lol My flowers by a local florist, red velvet roses and Christmas berries :-) Us before we left.  Somehow this is the only pics of just the two of us lol We chose not to have a professional photographer this is my only regret because my camera card has corrupted so I only have the pics on people's phones which unfortunately are not great enough to have printed in large sizes. Oh well. It poured with rain but I was prepared with huge brollies :-) And our amazing cake complete with replic models made of our hounds So it's all done and dusted, I couldn't be any happier.  We have a few days together before heading back to work too.   Xxx

Happy 2014

Image
So how's you new year started, fine I hope.  So what resolutions or goals did you set yourself?   Mine, well they are practical ones. 1) replace our kitchen 2). Try and lose weight for my friends wedding in October. 3) try and be more social. With a new house, family and jobs I find myself thinking I should stay in contact with peeps but just don't find the time too. But I am going to make time.  Let's see how they all go this year :-)  Ps RaRa you have inspired me to pick up x stitching again. I used to x stitch but stopped when I had the twins.  Since rach has been posting her progress on her sampler it has made me want to try again.  This arrived in the post today....  It's a Christmas sampler so I have a year to complete it :-) Xxx
